With movies getting sequels on a yearly basis these days, I was curious as to which trilogies were ranked best on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb.com).
My personal favourite is Back to the Future, and yes, I enjoyed the third one.
Scrolling through the list, as a movie fan, I’m ashamed to admit that I forgot a few. Is it my fault though… with all of the trilogies getting sequels out there, it’s almost hard to keep track.
One that is not on the list that I do recommend is the 2009 Millennium Trilogy movies based on the Swedish crime novels: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest. The first one is not to be mixed up with the 2011 movie starring Daniel Craig, of the same name, which is also based on the first novel. Although I did enjoy the new one, watching the originals and getting the complete story was far better. Just be aware there are subtitles.
